FAQs
-
The annual fee is only $16.42: $10 pays for your Pickleball Canada (PCO) membership, $5 pays for your Pickleball Nova Scotia (PNS) membership, and a small amount is for a service charge and tax totaling $1.42.
NOTE: If you are joining through a local Pickleball club in your community that charges an annual club fee and those club fees are being collected through the PCO website, your club membership fee will be shown as an additional charge to the $16.42.
-
Our Membership calendar year runs from January 1st to December 31st. For anyone joining or renewing after September 1st, your fee will cover you for the remainder of the year and all of the next year. It will then continue to be an annual renewal each year on January 1st.
-
A significant amount of membership fees go back into supporting our membership to support new growth in communities throughout the province, to promote the sport to new demographics, to develop new sport opportunities such as tournaments and skills clinics, and to implement our strategic plan developed in partnership with Sport Nova Scotia.
A portion of membership fees get passed on to Pickleball Canada to cover the costs of insurance, a comprehensive member database, and national level support for the growth and unification of pickleball across the country.
Some other ways membership fees support our members are through:
maintenance of the PNS website
purchasing equipment to lend to members for their events
subsidizing coach and referee certifications to promote more development opportunities and community support
dispute resolution (when required)
among other mission-aligned expenses
